For the first ten months of Oliver's life he HATED to take a bath. He was/is such a good, happy little boy that changed in to a mean and cranky one from the time the bath began until he was out and dried off. One day I put him in the tub and he liked it. I was surprised. He now loves to take his bath.

Brandon hates his birthday. He has for as long as he can remember. I hate that. I love my birthday. I have tried every year to make it special for him. I think I am making some progress, but he won't admit it. This year I made him a gift of pictures of the boys. I am posting the final product as well as some of the pictures I took trying to get the right one. Surprisingly, Oliver was easier to get a good smile than the other two.

48 Hour Film Festival

When I got up at 4 am to feed Oliver this is where I found Brandon. He had been up editing the film and just crashed. I literally had to drag him up the stairs to bed. He did not remember any of it the next day. During the 48 hours he only got 4 hours of sleep. He took all week to recover.

Brandon participated in the 48 Hour Film Festival again this year. It is a film making competition where the participants are given 48 hours to make a film. Friday night they are given a genre, a prop, a occupation, and a line that they must use in the film. The film must be 4-7 minutes long. This year Brandon's group got Thriller/Suspense, the prop was a certificate, the occupation was roommate, the line was "Whoa, I didn't see that coming.". (Everyone was confused about the occupation roommate.) He made a film about a foursome that gets stuck in an abandoned psychiatric ward and finds their doom. Spencer, Melanie, and James all got to be a part of the movie acting as ghosts.

While we were waiting for the hospital to call Brandon rollerbladed and I walked.

Right before all of the fun began.

That is a big bruise on his forehead. He got stuck on his way out. He also has one the back of his head from the vacuum that was used to help him out.

When I was in labor with Chandler we watched 'Love Story'. The main character's name in that movie is Oliver. We had decided on the name Chandler, but after watching that movie and hearing the name Oliver we questioned our decision. Obviously, we ultimately picked Chandler, but said if we ever had another boy it would be Oliver. We found out we were having another boy and started calling him Oliver. Then, because it is a huge decision to choose a name, we had our doubts. On Tuesday, April 21, I was scheduled to be induced. They had told me 7 am, but to call in the morning to make sure it was still on for that time. I called and they had a lot of laboring mothers so I would have to wait. Brandon and I were up and ready to go at 7, so we had some time to kill. We didn't want to sit at home and wait for the phone to ring, so we left to find something to do. Well, not much is open or going on at that time in the morning. We drove around for a bit. We went and walked around the mall...before any of the stores were open. We saw a display of muffins that looked delicious and went on a mission to find a yummy muffin. We went to Target to get said muffin. Then we walked around the store for a bit. Right at the front of the store, in the $5 movie section was a copy of 'Love Story'. I had made a comment about how we should have rented it to watch in the hospital, but thought about it too late. We took this as a sign that the little one coming to us was, in fact, Oliver. We spent sometime just sitting outside the hospital, looking at the pond and watching people go in and out of the hospital. We spent some time walking and rollerblading. Finally at noon the hospital was ready for us.

In previous posts I have made mention that I have a weird number obsession. Ollie's birthday fits in my "requirements". First, it is my best friend, Kylee's birthday. Second, it is divisible by 3. Third, it has a number 1 and a 2. Now all of my boys have a 1 and a 2 in their birthday. And 1+2=3.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday. Everything looks good. He is going to let me stay pregnant as long as my body/the baby decides to let me. I feel really good about that. I am hoping to have him on Easter, but I really don't get to choose. We have pretty much decided to name him Oliver. Unless a name comes out of the blue between now and the time he is "officially" named. Chances are it could happen. It did with Spencer.

I have decided that I have got to do something to get out of Harmons. I started here 8.5 years ago as "holiday help". Every time the holidays come around I am reminded that my 3 months has turned into years. I don't like it. Not to toot my own horn, but I am really good at what I do, but most of what I do could be done by a monkey. I have decided to go back to school and pursue my dream of teaching Kindergarten/First Grade. I applied for school and financial aid and I am now waiting to hear the results of that. What better time to go back to school than as a mother of 3 boys. Ha. Just taking the step to apply has lifted my spirits. Sure, I will probably work at Harmons until I am done with school, but knowing that I am on the path to freedom makes my heart skip a beat.

Spencer and Chandler are very excited for the arrival of their little brother. Chandler said to me the other day "I wish it could be night for long so I could sleep until April." I told Spencer yesterday that the baby had been kicking like crazy all day. He said "He is probably really mad because he wants to come out and meet us." Makes perfect sense to me.

I am looking for a breast pump. Any opinions would be very welcome. I want to breast feed, but actually feeding with my breast makes me want to throw things. I am planning to pump my breast milk and feed with a bottle. This would also make it possible for Brandon to help feed, something he enjoys doing. I've never used a pump, so I would like to hear from someone that has experience with it. Thanks for your time.

I went to the doctor yesterday for a routine prenatal exam. I found out that I have my 3rd bladder infection. I will be on antibiotics until I am at 36 weeks and then I will probably be started. That is 4 short weeks away. YIKES! I was ready to go full term, which meant I have 8 weeks left. That time just got cut in half. I am having a bit of a freak out about this. I have another appointment in 2 weeks. Hopefully at this appointment he will tell me that everything looks good and I can keep being pregnant for a bit longer.

What kind of crazy pregnant lady am I? I am asking to be pregnant longer. Most want the baby to be here NOW. I want him to come, just not yet. I have had a really good pregnancy, with the exception of the bladder infections, and I am not quite ready to be a mom to a newborn yet. I guess if nothing else this should kick my preparations into high gear. Let's hope that Park City has some killer deals this weekend. Yay for Girls Day!

Not playing ds, but cuddling and cute. James came to stay the night at our house. Brandon had to introduce him to some movies that he missed in the two years he was gone. The boys were loving having him here. They are right by his side whenever he is around.

The Nintendo DS is a single player game, but 9 times out of 10 it is played by one person who is cuddled by another. There has been far more cuddling around me since the boys got their ds for Christmas.

The boys and I were flipping through a magazine. We saw an ad for pampers swaddlers. It had a picture of a baby with the umbilical cord stump still attatched. They were both curious about it. I explained to them what it was, and that they were not to touch it. Chandler looked at me and said "Whatever, I am going to pull it off. That's DISGUSTING!" He sounded like a total teenager. I have since convinced him that it would be a really bad idea to pull it off. Hopefully when the baby is born he will leave that alone.

Australian Pockets

My Sister-in-Law, Amber, was living with my Mother and Father-in-law for a few months this fall. Her husband, Greg, was transferred to Tasmania, Australia and she stayed behind for a while to get all of their things in order. Three weeks before she moved over with him, Greg's sister, Tracey, came to stay. Greg is originally from Australia and his family is all located over there. Spencer was pretty fascinated by Tracey. She told him all sorts of stories and facts about the "Land down under." The night before they left Tracey gave both of my boys an Australian coin. They were so excited. Spencer put the coin in his mouth to hold for just a minute. We all told him to take it out because money is dirty. He wanted to know why money was dirty. We told him all of the reasons that money could be dirty (ex. dirty hands touching it, falling on the ground) . I guess one of the reasons really concerned him, because on the way home that night he said "Crap. I forgot to ask Tracey something." We asked him what he needed to know. He said "I wanted to ask her why they don't have pockets in Australia." Brandon and I were puzzled. We asked him to explain why he thought they didn't have pockets in Australia. His reply was "Because they have to put their money in their shoe." Brandon and I laughed and explained to him that they did have pockets, but sometimes people just stick money in their shoe, even in the United States.

My Father-in-Law is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He is also a police officer. During one of his visits he was wearing his Steelers watch. Spencer asked him what was on his watch. Later that day Spencer was explaining the watch and how Grandpa uses it for work. He said "Grandpa is a cop and they gave him a watch. He looks at it and it tells him where the stealers are so he can go arrest them." I thought that was a pretty clever interpretation.

One night I turned around from the stove to find these two super cute boys laying on the stairs playing their games. It was too cute. Of all the places we have to sit in the house they choose the stairs.

Later that same night as I was getting the kids ready for bed I turned to find Brandon laying at the top of another set of stairs playing the boys game. I guess it must really be a comfortable way to play. Boy, do I love these three. I am a lucky girl.

April Babies

I have 2 cousins that are pregnant due in April with me. We are all having boys. We had a family party on the 1st of January and had to do a belly pic. Man, do I hate belly pics, but this one is fun because we are all in it together. We plan to get together to take one of the little boys once they are born.

I am pregnant with my 3rd boy. Meagan is pregnant with her first baby. Nicole is pregnant with her 3rd child, but 1st boy.

Side note: I went to the doctor this morning. Everything looks good. Right on schedule. But the interesting thing to note is Jamie Oliver was mentioned on the cover of 3 different magazines. 3 is my favorite number and Oliver is the name that I want to give the little guy. That's a sign, right. Brandon just needs to give in:)

New Year's Resolution

One of my BIGGEST pet peeves about myself is the way I do laundry (or don't do laundry). This year I am going to focus on that. I will put the laundry in the washer, dryer, and then (and this is the hardest part) PUT IT AWAY! I will no longer wonder if the clothes in the basket need to be washed or if they are ready to wear. I will have less wrinkles. The boys will be able to find their socks and underwear. This task is going to be huge! It has been a MAJOR problem for me since the day I started doing my own laundry. Wish me luck.

I mean, come on, it's not like this is how I have to do it. Really. What's my problem?

Christmas

You can tell a bit of the difference in their personalities from these pictures. I wouldn't trade either one of them. They made Christmas so fun. I love to watch the innocent excitement.

We went up to Brigham after we opened all of our presents. There was a snow storm that night that threatened to keep us up there. Luckily, we made it home safe. Brandon's hands were sore from holding the steering wheel so tight.

This Christmas was one of the best ones I have had in a long time. It was relaxed and focused on Family. Brandon and I didn't do Christmas presents for each other, but I didn't feel like I missed out on anything. It was nice to not have to worry about that part of it all. I did feel bad a bit before Christmas, but on Christmas day it didn't matter that we didn't have gifts. Brandon agreed with me that it was one of the best we have had together.

We had a really fun Christmas Eve. We went to my in-laws for games and food. We played pictionary and scattergories. The boys had fun running around and playing. My Father-in-law would shoot the guys an evil look when they weren't able to guess what he was drawing. It was pretty funny because he didn't draw very well:)

We went to the Hogle Zoo to see the Zoo Lights. It was so COLD!!! It was really pretty, but it was far too cold to really enjoy. We also hadn't had dinner so the boys were all pretty cranky pretty quick into it. After the zoo we went to the Gateway and ate at the California Pizza Kitchen. It was a fun experience, but next year we will have to choose a warmer night and have a snack before.

Chandler turned 4 on Sunday. He was/is so excited about it. Since Sunday he can run faster, jump higher, clean up, etc. He always says, “Yes, I can do it. I am four years old.” One day he was licking under his lips (something that both of my boys do until their chins are sore) and said, “What the heck am I doing? Four year olds don’t lick their lips. It must be leftover from three.” I had to laugh. Hopefully more of his bad behavior is just “leftover from three” and he will start to be a little angel:)

My “baby” turns 4 tomorrow. What are we doing having another one? I am sitting here thinking about what we are getting ourselves into having another one. Yesterday Chandler decided he wanted lunch as I was in the middle of folding laundry, so he fixed himself a sandwich. He can dress himself. He is potty trained. He sleeps through the night. I can go places without a diaper bag or stroller. I don’t have to buckle anyone in the car because they can both do it by themselves. I have 2 very independent boys. In April I will have someone that totally depends on me for EVERYTHING. I am feeling totally overwhelmed by this idea.

And then I think of the tiny hands and feet, the snuggly baby, the sweet new baby smell, first smiles, first steps, first time seeing the new baby, tiny baby noises, a new little one to love and it all seems worth it.

Where is time going?!?

I swear every morning I wake up a week has passed instead of only a night. Which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Spencer had his 6th birthday on the 12th. I had a really hard time with that. I feel like he was just a tiny baby laying in the bed at the hospital. In my head I am still just waiting for him to be strong enough to come home. Then we put 6 candles on his cake and I realize how much time has passed since then. I feel like I have missed so much of his life doing all of the regular hustle bustle of life. I really just want to be able to enjoy it more. The year and a half that we managed the apartments took a lot out of both Brandon and I. We both totally missed that time of our boys lives. The boys acted out, screaming for a bit of attention from us. We didn't listen. I am so sad. That was the worst year and a half of my life and I can never get it back. Now we are in our own home, with our own needs and wants to fill our minds and time, we are enjoying each other again. The boys have been so well behaved, Brandon and I have relaxed, we enjoy family time. In the apartments Brandon and I were in a black hole, barely surviving day to day. Now there is light.

For Spencer's birthday we gave him Brandon's old video camera. Spence is a little director in training. He follows his Dad around watching his every move. He had a fake camera that didn't record anything that he would use all the time. Trying different angles, yelling action and cut, setting the scene. When he opened the video camera he had the HAPPIEST look on his face. I have never seen him so happy. Brandon was emotional. And of course, my camera battery was DEAD! I will never forget the look on his face, though. It is forever burned in my mind. Since his birthday he has not let go of the camera, even begging to take it to school.

We had our very first Parent Teacher Conference with Spencer. Mrs. Jones had nothing but good to say about him. He is doing well with all of his school work, he is an excellent student. He is one she can always expect to do the right thing and to be the example. He earned "character award" for RESPONSIBILTY. We got to go to an award ceremony. He was so cute up there on the stage.

Chandler is Chandler. He is so funny. He always has the funniest things to say, accompanied with the silliest facial expressions. He is always making us laugh, even if he is a bit mischevious. Life would surely be boring without him. He is such a sweetie, too. He is always giving my belly kisses for the baby. He will bring me 2 treats, one for me and one for the baby. He is going to be a great big brother. He is enjoying "acting" in Spencer's films. He is always trying to come up with really great lines, and tries so hard to do the best acting he can. I love to see my two boys playing together. They really are best friends.

One week from today we should be able to find out the gender of our baby. I am excited. We were unsure if we were going to find out, but since deciding to I can't hardly wait. I really don't have any feelings as to what it is. Today I feel like it is a boy, yesterday a girl. Hopefully the baby will cooperate next week and we will be able to tell. The boys are excited to get to see the baby on the computer.

Spencer was playing outside on our rocks, when suddenly he came into the house crying. I thought he had fallen on the rocks, but he was insisting that he hadn't. He showed me his leg, which at the time just looked like he had scraped it. We continued to watch it and as the night wore on it began to look like a bite. So, we hopped online to find out about spider bites. That was enough to keep Brandon and I up all night worried about our little boy's leg. (If you get bored and want to see something really disgusting google 'brown recluse spider bites') One of the signs of a brown recluse bite is that it turns purple/gray. He woke up the next morning and sure enough it was purple/gray. We took him to the doctor and they gave him medicine. It still got pretty ugly, but not as bad as it could have been.

Brandon's sister, Amber is in the process of moving from California to Tasmania. Her husband,Greg, is already living over there. While she gets all of their things in order to make the move she is staying with my in-laws. We have gotten to spend some time with her and her two cute little boys while she is here. It has been great, and I don't want her to move. Amber, Andrea, and I took all of our boys to the zoo. That is 6 boys ages 5 and under! It was some wild times, but was lots of fun. They all had a chance to play in the snow during the past snow storm. And this week we had our families over for a Halloween dinner. Last night they went trick or treating together. It was so cute to see the little ones (Gabriel-1 and Owen-1) chasing after Spencer-5, Chandler-3, and Aiden-4. The little ones caught on quick!

The boys woke up on Sunday, October 12 to a foot of snow. They looked out the window and this is the conversation that followed:
Spencer-"This is the BEST DAY EVER!"
Chandler-"Yes, the BEST DAY EVER."
Spencer- "I never thought this day would come."
Chandler-"I always knew that it would."

Then they came running to me to get all of their snow clothes on. They had a blast out in the snow. Hudson also enjoyed himself quite a bit.

As we were making it the boys were singing "jingle bells". Brandon was a bit annoyed with them. He kept trying to get them to sing a Halloween song. They love to tease their Dad.

Brandon read my list and wanted to play, too.  This is what he came up with...

1. I am quite proud of my BluRay and DVD collection, but unlike any 
other person in the world, I do not just alphabetize my collection,
but rather have them listed alphabetically by Studio. For instance, my 
Warner Bros collection is A-Z, Paramount is A-Z, Fox is A-Z, etc.
The only exception to this rule is Tim Burton films which are listed 
in order of release. I can look at my collection and know exactly what
is missing and I know where each film goes when I am ready to put a 
DVD/BluRay back.

2. I have certain films I watch at different times in the year, and 
for odd reasons. For instance, every Christmas Eve I watch a film
called Deep Blue Sea. It has been a tradition of mine for 9 years. I 
purchased my first DVD Player on Christmas Eve but the collection
to choose from on titles was very slim. I picked up Deep Blue Sea and 
have watched it ever since on that night. Every Halloween
I watch Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow for obvious reasons. Every January 
I watch the entire Star Wars saga non stop. Every April
I have a Matrix marathon, etc. Also, I watch Terminator 2 every August 
29th for that is the date Judgement Day begins in the film,
as well as V for Vendetta on November 5th in celebration of Guy Fawkes 
Day. This list can go on and on.

3. Whenever I am on a shoot on one of my movies, I generally wear 
something lucky. I tend to wear Tim Burton themed black
and white striped socks on every film; or I am wearing a Tim Burton or 
a Brandon Young themed shirt. I have a Mind of Tim Burton shirt,
I Heart Tim Burton, and a Tim Rocks shirt that I usually wear. My crew 
has also made me a I Heart Brandon Young shirt which I now wear,
as well as shirts made regarding my films; Self Isolation, Guardian, 
and The Game Plan. My favorite shirt says I am the Director, but you can
call me God. Its a strange superstition.

4. When I am on the phone, I must be pacing. If I am sitting down 
while talking on the phone, I am generally doodling. Also, I am quite
petrified of making phone calls.

5. I absolutely detest taking baths. I instead take showers which 
generally last for about twenty minutes. I usually just stand in the 
shower
for about ten to fifteen minutes which I find extremely relaxing. 
Showers must be near scalding hot as well.

6. At a movie theater, I must sit four rows up with a bar directly 
ahead of me. This way I have a foot rest without kicking someones chair.
If I do not get my theater seat, I get very angry. Luckily my friends 
understand this and they generally save me a seat.

1. I am OBSESSED with patterns of numbers. I like to see “my birthday” anywhere and everywhere. Brandon has learned that this is super cool to me. He even texted me once to let me know he saw it on a police car and the bus on his old Pepsi route was numbered with his birthday. I have decided to not be induced this pregnancy, because I can’t figure out a cool date to do it. All of my boys have 12 in there birthday-Brandon 6/12, Spencer 11/12, Chandler 12/14. The baby will be grandchild # 8 on one side and #3 on another-which is my birthday 8/3. Obsessed. I could go on and on.

2. I HATE to sit up straight when I eat. Brandon learned very early on that my leg would be on his lap during meals. He has grown to love it. Eating with my in-laws is torture, because that is one of the only times I have to sit up straight.

3. I am DISGUSTED by bar soap. I would rather someone not wash his or her hands than to use a bar of soap. I feel bad because Brandon feels cleaner when he washes with a bar, but I won’t buy them for him.

4. I fall ASLEEP during nearly every movie I ever watch. Doesn’t matter where I am. This drives Brandon crazy. When asked if I’ve seen a movie my answer usually is “the beginning”. I try to stay awake. I have always done this. Many nights I was late for curfew, just because I fell asleep during a movie. I don’t go to the theater very often because I feel it is one expensive nap.

5. I LOVE the read instruction manuals. I also love to read reviews on products. I got this from my Dad.

6. I don’t like to eat without something to READ. I’ve even gone as far as to read the phone book when there wasn’t anything else around…That also helped with my name obsession mentioned in a previous post.

For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with names. I bought my first baby name book when I was 13 and spent many hours reading it, underlining it, etc. As you know, I am now pregnant with baby #3. If we have a girl the name is set. If we have a boy, we aren't quite sure what to name him. With Spencer we were set on a name, until we saw him and then decided that we needed something different. It took us 3 days to finally end up with Spencer. With Chandler it was a lot easier to choose a name and stick with it. He was always going to be Chandler. So, now we have a list of names that we are tossing around for boys and I want to know what people think. We will ultimately choose a name that we like, not caring about other's opinions, but I just want to know what they are. Our girl name is not on anyone's favorite list, but we don't care. As long as we've been together our future girl has been Ellarie Maryn. We will call her Ellie.

Poor Hudson. He has been a bit neglected over the last little bit. With all of the moving we have done he just gets pushed aside. And he STINKS! My pregnant nose can't take the smell. Brandon and the boys are good to show him love, and I try, but he makes me want to vomit. I feel so bad. He is a good dog and we all love him a lot. Hopefully before the baby comes he will get the attention he needs, cause after the baby is born, all bets are off.

Spencer started Kindergarten this year. The school he started at is full day Kindergarten. Our move put us in the boundaries of a school that is only half day Kindergarten. We haven't switched him, yet. He is really quite upset about not eating lunch at school. We need to get him changed over, but I just haven't found the time or energy to do it. I sure am hoping that the 2nd trimester of pregnancy brings back my energy.

Spencer is loving school. He loves to tell me all about it when he gets out. He has made new friends and the girls all chase him. I can't believe my little guy is in school. Where did the time go?

I am soo behind on posting. Between the time spent packing and unpacking and being so tired from pregnancy, not to mention the fact that I can't find anything yet, I have fallen a bit behind. Anyway, better late than never, Right?

Our new HOME!

We have bought a house, a HOME! We have all of our stuff in the new house, we just need to unpack and find a place for everything. We are still waiting for the apartments to find a replacement for us, so Brandon is still messing with that whole bit. What a nightmare. I can't wait until we are completely done. It will be so nice to just live our own lives. I don't know how we did it for so long. That was the worst year and a half of my entire life. I want to totally forget about it. It was a learning experience, and it helped us get into a nice home, but it sure was miserable. I am laying in my new house right now and feel so free.

And the room that will be the baby's already has pink curtains. Sign? I think so. :)

We spent a weekend in Tony Grove with my family and the Hubbards, one of my Dad's oldest friends. The boys had so much fun getting dirty, dealing with the fire, fishing, and sleeping in the tent. Brandon stayed home so he could work on the video that would ultimately land him his job.

Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake to stay for a weekend. We were there with the Clark Family. It was a really good time and I hope it becomes an annual event. Once the Clark's get together fun always follows. We had a good time at the beach, on the wave runners, craft fairing, going through the Minnetonka Cave, and just being together talking, laughing, and playing games.
Colby was such a good babysitter. He could be found in the hammock surrounded by kids most of the time.
This was just after Spencer hurt his lip on the wave runner. Brandon was trying to be a wild man out on the water. Spence got the bloody lip to prove just how wild his Daddy is.

The kids had fun on the four wheelersJust before Kyle got busted by the Bear Lake security for driving back and forth on the beach. Which then led to a funny conversation about "the Man".Uncle Jerry and Spencer have a special bond. At family gatherings they can usually be seen together. Spence just snuggles right up to him. It is such a sweet thing.Spencer and Chandler are not brothers. They are BEST FRIENDS. This was on the way to the Minnetonka CaveDoesn't he look good holding pink? Brandon and I have been on-site managers of an apartment complex for the past year and three months. It hasn't been easy at all. There have been times that it has been more tolerable than others. We are in charge of 48 very old, poorly taken care of apartments. Everyday someone has a plumbing emergency. The solution of the previous managers was to wrap duct tape around it or prop up a box under the pipes to stop a leak. This handy work has made for a GIANT mess for us. The families that live in the apartments are low income families. Most of them single parents. We have to hear month after month why they don't have the rent money, as we watch them throw big parties on the porch. They are all able to afford their alcohol and the likes, but can't quite afford a place to live. It is a very frustrating thing to have to deal with. I try my hardest to be understanding and to not judge, but I am judging and I DO NOT understand.

With Brandon's new job it will be virtually impossible for us to continue to manage the apartments. HOORAY!!! We are now in the process of finding a place to live. I fall in love with every place, because the way I feel about these apartments. I would live in a box. I can't take another month in this place. I need some space, the boys need to be able to be boys, Hudson needs to run and play, and most of all, I would love to be able to hang out at my house in my pajamas without worrying who is going to need to talk to us. Please keep your fingers crossed that we will find a place...TODAY!

Brandon found out today that he got a new job! He will be working for Top Ten Reviews, which is a big internet review company. He will be starting up their video department. He is so excited to have a career in film. A dream come true for him. I am so happy that he is happy. I am glad that he found a job that fits him. I am also happy because with this job we now are going to get out of apartment management. It will be so nice to be able relax at home without all of the phone calls and people at the door. Ahh. I can't wait!

We went to Lagoon with Jon, Andrea, and Aiden for Harmons Lagoon Day. It was such a good time. I was worried about Chandler not liking any of the rides (He is kind of a scardey cat). I was really happy to find that he LOVED them all. After every ride he would say "I want to do it again" He surprised us all. I surprised myself by going on the Sky Coaster. I don't know what came over me. I am so terrified of heights, that even standing at the top of stairs makes me nervous. I am so glad that I did it. I want to do it again! All of us adults are planning a trip back so we can go on the "big kid rides". It is really fun to watch the kids on their rides, but I do miss the fun of actually being able to ride the rides. i hope we can make it back down there this summer.

Spencer is a miniature Brandon. He loves talking about film, watching his Dad make films. After he watches a movie he always wants to see the 'making of' special feature. He told me the other day of a plan for a movie he had. He was going to use his action figures as food. He would decide what type of food by what they looked like (ex. the red transformer would be ketchup). His words were "You would only see the food. The food would start disappearing and then the camera pull back and you would see the people eating. That's when you would know why it was disappearing." Another example of his love for films...The other day Brandon was going to see Hellboy. Spencer wanted to go, but obviously he couldn't. He started pouting. Brandon told him that he would let him listen to the soundtrack. That brought a big smile to his face. That was good enough for him. Oh man, I love that boy.

We love Hudson Edward O'Malley Young. He fits right in to our family. He is such a sweet little guy. He really couldn't have come at a better time in our lives. He loves to cuddle. He won't go to sleep at night unless he is cuddling with something or someone. That works out great for us because we all love to cuddle,too.
He loves to sleep under my bed. He also has a habit of climbing inside of the box springs. Silly boy.

My first 5k.

Yesterday I ran my first 5k. I ran with my Sister-in-Law, Andrea, who turned out to be a great running partner. We both helped each other keep a good pace. If I would fall behind seeing her ahead of me would encourage me to continue. She says I did the same for her. I finished the race in 35:53:18. She finished just a few steps ahead of me, but because of a misunderstanding she didn't have her timing chip. We are making plans to do more races in the future. We hope to do next years Ogden Marathon 5k again and improve our time. I feel so good about actually running and finishing this. I was starting to get really nervous and was thinking of a way to get out of it. I am so glad that I didn't! It was a great experience. I feel so powerful.

Best Use of Prop

Brandon did the 48 hour film festival for the first time this year. He had so much fun and is already planning next year. It began Friday evening. He had a representative from his team head done to the meeting in Salt Lake. At that meeting they were given the genre, a prop to use, and a character name. From that point on they had 48 hours to write, film, edit, and burn a 7 minute movie. Things were pretty intense for him and his team. He had a small part for Spencer, so I got to go watch him work for a bit. It was pretty fun to see how he just takes control and gets things done. They turned in their film with a minute to spare. They shut the doors behind him. He was pretty tired for the next few days. He has since been to parties and screenings. He has made a lot of new contacts, that he hopes that will open new doors in helping him live his dream. At the award ceremony he won an award for the Best Use of Prop. There were 44 films, and to be recognized as one of the best in that group is pretty impressive. Way to go, Brandon!

Brandon surprised me with a night at the Anniversary Inn in Logan. We were there last year for our 5th anniversary, so it was fun to go back there for our 6th. We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday, walked around the Cache Valley Mall, and then retired to our room. It was a nice time. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. I wish I could have a week alone with him. He is my best friend and I just want to be with him at all times. At home we are so busy running here and there, dealing with work, the apartments, kids, families, and friends. It is nice to be able to get away and just be together.

We got our counters resurfaced, so we decided to get a hotel with a pool. We had such a fun time swimming. The boys wish they could swim everyday. I was surprised at how brave Chandler was. We had a good easter. The boys got a lot of candy and other treats from the two egg hunts they went on. We had one at Brandon's parents house and a flashlight one at my Grandma Clark's house. Seriously? Who comes up with this? I am so baffled. I also found a website concerning reusable tampons that you crochet yourself. I don't think I'll ever be able to get on that train. Oh the wonderful, wacky, worldwide web What better way to say 'I Love You' than with tampon flowers. I knew that there was something missing from my Christmas decorations.
What a cool weapon. Although, when I am pmsing I wish I had a real gun at times.

Brandon and I went to California last week. It was a bit of a whirlwind trip, but was really fun! I can't wait until we can get away together again. It was so nice to be able to walk and hold his hand. We did Disneyland and California Adventure. I hadn't been there for 15 years and it had been 10 for Brandon. There was a lot of stuff that had changed, but it was still magical. We also took a quick walk down the Hollywood Star sidewalk. We ate at Mel's Drive In from the movie 'American Graffiti'. The boys stayed with my Mom and Dad. When we came home they didn't want to leave. I am so grateful for my Parents for taking the boys. It was a wonderful time.

Hardware Ranch

For my Mom's birthday we went to Hardware Ranch. We took a sleigh ride through the elk. It was FREEZING, but really fun. We got there right in time to put an elk down. He had cracked his skull, so they had to put him out of his misery. It was quite the experience. Luckily my boys weren't old enough to know what was going on.

A few weeks ago we went sledding. Chandler did not like it at all. He went down once with me and then said "I don't want to do it two times." Brandon grabbed him and took him down another time, he screamed the whole way down the hill. We went with Brandon's sister, Andrea, her husband Jon and their cute little boy Aiden. Spencer and Aiden were quite the little dare devils, trying all sorts of tricks. Brandon thought he was a kid and went off the jumps. He was not feeling so young the next day.

The other day I overheard these two talking to each other. Spencer hugged Chandler and said "Best Friends and Brothers Forever." Boy, did my heart melt. They really are the best of friends. Spencer has been super attached to his teddy bear "Ross". I asked him why he liked to take him everywhere lately and he said "Sometimes I feel like I need a hug and Chandler is not always there." What sweet boys. I love them both so much more than I could have ever imagined.

Before New Year's I had a funny conversation with Spencer. It went like this:

Spencer-"What is it going to feel like when it's the New Year?"
Mom-"It's going to feel the same as any other day, the calendar just starts over."
Spencer-"Are we going to have to walk backwards for a while?"
Mom-"Why would we have to walk backwards?"
Spencer-"When a movie starts over you rewind it and all of the people walk backwards. If the calendar starts over we will have to walk backwards to rewind it."

Brandon (who is about the luckiest person I know), won a Nintendo Wii. It came with the game Wii Sports which includes tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, and boxing. I am in love with the boxing game. All I want to do is box. My arms, back, and shoulders are sore. I can't get enough. I have never, in all of my life, liked video games but I caught the fever.

Brandon, Spencer, and Chandler always wear their Santa hats on Christmas Eve. Brandon has done this since the first Christmas we were married.

Spencer and Chandler getting ready to go to the Christmas Eve party. They are in their new jammies. Unfortunately the rest of Christmas was such a blur that I didn't get any pictures. i am super sad about that. At least we have the memory of it.

I had plans to get a lot of Christmas crafting done. I only finished one. It was this tray for Santa. I was pretty happy about how it turned out.

We had a crazy, busy Christmas, but it was good. We were up too late on Christmas Eve, and almost missed my brother, James's phone call. We were supposed to leave our house at 8:00 to make it in time for his call, but we did not wake up until 8:00. We opened the presents in a mad rush and ran out the door. The poor boys didn't even know what they got for Christmas. We made it up to hear James's voice on the phone. That was such a good thing. It made me miss him a lot, but I know he is doing a great job on his mission. He is currently serving in Maryland. He is almost to his halfway point. After talking to James we scarfed down some breakfast casserole at my parents house and then ran out the door again. We went to Brandon's parents house for monkey bread and scones. We opened presents and visited for a bit and went home to take a nap. When we woke up from our nap it was time to be back up in Brigham City at my grandparent's house. We stayed up there the rest of the night, playing games, eating, and having a good time. The boys stayed at my Mom's house because Brandon and I had to work the next morning. They had a good time the next day playing with all of Coleson and Jayden's new Christmas toys. They were happy to come home that evening to spend some time with all of the stuff they got. Whew! I am glad that Christmas only comes once a year!

We had a family dinner at Red Robin, after much persuasion from Brandon. He chose McDonald's, but Brandon did not want it so he convinced him to eat at Red Robin. We had family over for cake and ice cream the night before his birthday. He got a lot of really cool toys. He was pretty happy about it. I think we were able to find the most masculine Dora toys out there. He loves Dora, but we tend to shy away from the merchandise because it is so girly. We were able to find a balance, though. For every Dora toy he got he got some sort of sports gear. It amazes me the difference between my two boys. Spencer is all about Batman, Superman, Spiderman, etc. Chandler likes Dora, Blues Clues, and sports. I am so lucky to have such fun boys.

We tried to get a picture of all of the grandkids on Brandon's side. It was a bit of an adventure. This is as good as we could get. We just found out that there is to be another grandbaby born in July. We are all counting on a boy. That seems to be all that we can grow now days. Poor Lexi.

Dear Ol' Santa Claus

Every year Harmons has Santa come to their Holiday Open House. For the past 4 years they have had the same Santa. Spencer found the one from his first visit with Santa and laughed out loud because it was a different Santa. We decided that the first one was just his helper, but the other one is the "real" Santa. I love this Santa. I will be so sad when he isn't the Harmons Santa anymore.

Brandon went down to the Comcast headquarters to pitch some ideas for some shows about filmmaking, filmmakers, etc. The liked the idea and decided to give him a shot. He is part of a group called Solar Shock Pictures. They will be doing all of writing and developing of the new shows. Some of the shows they have been doing as podcasts, but now they will venture out into the big world of television. He is really excited about it. I am proud of him for having an idea and bringing it to life. I usually only get to the idea part. Way to go, Brandon! I love you!

I am ready to lose the "baby weight". I don't really feel like I can still blame it on my baby, though. He is turning three next week. I am putting this ticker on here to hold myself accountable. If I know that someone could be tracking my progress it will help me to succeed. I hope. I know starting this right before Christmas seems a bit like bad timing, but I don't want to start after I have gained all of the "Christmas candy weight". Maybe one day I will post pictures to help motivate me even more. Not sure how I feel about that yet. Anyway, Wish me Luck!

Christmas Village

On Saturday we went to see the Christmas Village in Ogden. It was a lot of fun. This is one of my favorite Christmas Tradtions. I have so many memories of my family going there when I was younger. I hope my kids have the same good memories of Chrismas as we continue old traditions and make new ones.

After Brandon decided to take us out for dessert. We were right by Dee's, so that is where we decided to go. BIG mistake. We had the grossest brownie. None of us took more than 2 bites. We were all pretty disappointed. Brandon loves brownies, so to make up for it I made some the next day. He said they were the best brownies he had ever eaten. I think the memory of the nasty brownies from the night before was still pretty vivid.

Spencer's 1st Fish

My Dad took Spencer, Chandler, and my brother Coleson fishing last Saturday. Spencer was the only one to catch a fish. He was so excited. He wanted to take the fish with him everywhere. He was spending the day at his cousin Aiden's house and wanted to bring it to show them. He told me that it would be okay because they had a fridge to keep it in. Thank you to my Dad for taking him. It was an experience that I am sure he won't soon forget.

Movie buffs

Spencer got Meet the Robinson's for his birthday. Brandon came home from work in the middle of the show. Spencer was happy to have his movie watching buddy. They have such a good time watching and talking about movies. We even caught Spencer playing with the tripod pretending to film. Brandon was so proud.

I cannot believe that Spencer is 5! Brandon and I spent the entire day just scratching our heads. Where did the time go?

On Sunday we had the family over for cake and ice cream. My house was full with 5 boys under the age of 6. Every time we have a family get together I realize we are in need of a little pink.

On Monday we went to dinner at Chili's. Spencer had been talking about baby back ribs for the longest time. I am not even sure if he had ever eaten them before, but he does watch t.v. and see the commercials. He loved them.

They brought out his birthday dessert with four spoons. He looked at them and asked "Why did they bring four spoons?" I told him that they brought them out in case he wanted to share. He thought about that for a minute and said "Well, I don't". Eventually he decided it was too big and decided to share.
